Local Veterinary Practice Earns Coveted Fear Free Practice Certification
Gilbert, Az. – Can you imagine telling your dog, “Let’s go to the vet!” and seeing her tail wag? How about getting out your cat’s carrier and seeing him come running?
Local pet owners won’t need to imagine it if they visit Arizona Animal Wellness Center in Gilbert. That’s because Arizona Animal Wellness Center is part of an impactful initiative known as Fear Free®, which is designed to ease the fear, anxiety, and stress so many pets experience while at the veterinarian.
Fear Free Practice Certification takes Fear Free implementation from an individual to a joint effort as practice team members work together to safeguard the emotional well-being of their patients, clients, and each other.
“At Arizona Animal Wellness Center, our unwavering dedication to the well-being of animals and the families who cherish them extends beyond traditional veterinary care. This commitment is exemplified by our proud decision to become a Fear Free Certified Practice. By embracing Fear Free principles, we prioritize the emotional well-being of our patients, ensuring that each visit is a positive and stress-free experience. This approach not only enhances the health of the animals we care for but also strengthens the bond between pets and their loving families. Our mission is clear: We serve to enrich the lives of animals and the families that love them, and our Fear Free certification is a testament to this ongoing commitment.”
Founded by Dr. Marty Becker and developed by hundreds of experts in behavior, medicine, and handling, Fear Free® offers online and in-person education to veterinary professionals, the pet professional community, animal shelter staff and volunteers, and pet owners. Fear Free provides both professionals and pet lovers alike with the knowledge and tools to look after a pet’s physical and emotional well-being.
“Providing veterinarians with the tools they need to ease this burden of fear and anxiety for our patients is the pinnacle of my decades-long veterinary career,” said Dr. Becker, who was dubbed “America’s Veterinarian” by Dr. Oz and appeared on Good Morning America for 17 years. “Veterinary professionals are hungry for this information. Animals and their humans need and deserve it.”
Pet owners who would like their pets to experience the Fear Free difference can schedule an appointment by calling 480-988-3660.
